Jazmin Bárcenas (she/her/ella) is a fourth-year medical student at the UCSD School of Medicine, with a bachelor’s degree in general biology from UCSD (2011) following her transfer from Cuyamaca College in 2009. She is dedicated to family medicine, with a focus on serving underserved communities.
Jazmin holds several leadership roles, including LMSA Mentorship Co-chair, Co-lead of the Premedical Scholars Program, and Medical Student Board Member of Latinas in Medicine. She also managed the Psychiatry Specialty Clinic at the UCSD Student-Run Free Clinic, where she committed to providing compassionate care to underserved populations.
Her dedication to patient care and leadership has earned her recognition as a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Passionate about mentorship, Jazmin is driven to support and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Outside of medicine, Jazmin enjoys relaxing by listening to vinyl records with her husband Humberto and their cat Luna. She is also an avid gamer and is currently playing Breath of the Wild for the third time.
