Dr. Gutierrez-Beasley is originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado and identifies as a proud Dominican Afro-Latina. She attended the University of Iowa receiving a degree in human physiology with a minor in music. She then worked as a nursing assistant in neurology and neurosurgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for two years before moving back to Colorado in 2017 to complete a Post-Bacc Program. She went on to attend the University of Colorado School of Medicine, graduated with her medical degree in 2022, and is now a 3rd year resident in family medicine at Family Health Centers of San Diego. While in medical school, she started an LGBTQ+ clinic at the school’s student run free clinic to provide gender affirming and primary care to a primarily uninsured and Spanish-speaking population. Her professional interests include obstetrics and prenatal care, family planning, mentoring, advocacy, health disparities, LGBTQ+ health, and gender affirming care. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing (especially merengue, bachata, salsa and reggaeton!), traveling, eating, hiking, swimming, going to the beach (or anything to do with water!), mentoring, and spending time with her partner, family, friends, and dog.
