Diana Garcia, MD
Diana Garcia, MD, as a member of the Program in Medical Education (PRIME)- Health Equity is dedicated to meeting the health care needs of underserved populations of California. Her interests in violence prevention began coordinating parenting skills workshops for migrant communities in Spanish.
She aims to improve cultural sensitivity in her field, empower all of those who seek medical care, and eliminate domestic violence and effectively address substance use disorders through educational and skills workshops, interventions, mentoring, and research. Her specific interests are patient safety, health equity Latin@, Black, immigrant/refugee, geriatric and adolescent populations, mental health, and trauma prevention. Her objective is to reduce the health literacy gap between diverse communities of color to improve health outcomes as a Family Physician and dedicated community activist.
